She is grateful! Billie Eilish (22) became famous in 2016 at the age of just 15 – her song “Ocean Eyes” gave the singer a rocket-like start to her career. Privately, she was struggling with her mental health and severe depression at the time. This phase and the question of the meaning of life haunted her for many years. Now the “Bad Guy” interpreter reveals that it was actually the movie Barbie that gave her healing!
In fact, it was the film for which Billie wrote the globally successful title “What Was I Made For”. At first she didn’t want to write this song because it “made no sense” and she was probably in a “dark phase” at the time. “I questioned everything in the world,” she said at the Palm Springs Film Awards. But glimpses of “Barbie” taught her something better: “I just watched Barbie “I said and felt things that I could really relate to.” For her, the film is the “most incredible, powerful, beautiful, funniest and most unbelievable work of art in the world,” she reveals.
The seven-time Grammy winner proves again and again how down-to-earth she is and that she is just a human being like everyone else. Billie I still struggle with body shaming, she revealed to Vogue: “I like myself more than I used to and I care more about how I feel than how others think of me. On the other hand […] “It still hurts.”
