3 delicious Christmas dishes that will make your skin shine

During Christmas there is a great temptation to fully enjoy all the savory and sweet treats. However, dairy, alcohol and sugary products such as cookies and candy can leave you with dull, unhappy skin after Christmas. Don’t want to hold back, but still want to maintain beautiful skin? Then make one of the Christmas dishes below!

1. Avocado salmon tartare

The healthy fats from the salmon, avocado and olive oil in this recipe are a real benefit for your skin. The fats prevent skin aging and protect against UV radiation (which is also present in winter!). In addition, this appetizer is also incredibly tasty! This is how you make the recipe:

Ingredients (4 persons)

  • 10 grams of basil
  • 10 grams of flat-leaf parsley
  • half a lemon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin)
  • 2 slices of smoked Norwegian salmon
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 4 slices of crispy toast
  • 1 cooking ring (about 10 cm)

Standard

Preparation method

  1. Remove the basil and parsley leaves from the sprigs and place them in a bowl. Squeeze half a lemon over it, drizzle with the oil and stir.
  2. Cut the salmon into pieces of about half a centimeter and put them in a bowl. Halve the avocados lengthwise, remove the pit, scoop the flesh out of the peel with a spoon and cut into cubes of about 1 centimeter. Spoon the avocado through the salmon and season.
  3. Place the cooking ring in the center of a plate, spoon ¼ of the avocado-salmon tartare into it and remove the ring. Make the other 3 plates in the same way. Spoon the herb salad onto the tartare and serve with toast.

2. Moroccan tomato soup

Lycopene, a substance found in tomatoes, helps the skin against skin aging. Your body absorbs the substance best when you prepare the tomatoes with olive oil or in a soup. The carrot in the soup is a good source of antioxidants, which are great for your skin. This Moroccan tomato soup is a delicious warm vegetarian Christmas recipe to enjoy during the cold Christmas holidays.

Ingredients (4 persons)

  • Teaspoon of soup mix for fresh tomato soup (186 g jar)
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 winter carrot
  • 1 clove garlic
  • piece of ginger of about 3 centimeters
  • 1 teaspoon ras el hanout
  • 1 teaspoon harissa (for example from Al’fez)
  • 400 grams of canned chickpeas
  • 1 lime juice
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 10 grams of coriander
  • 1 liter of water

Preparation method

  1. Heat the olive oil in a soup pan and fry the chopped onion and carrot for 5 minutes without letting them color too much. Add the garlic, ginger, ras el hanout and harissa and fry for another minute.
  2. Add the chickpeas, tomatoes and water. Stir in the soup mix and bring to the boil.
  3. Boil the soup gently for (at least) 6 minutes. Season the soup with a little lime juice and coriander. Spoon the soup into 4 bowls and enjoy!

3. Quinoa salad with smoked salmon

The cucumbers in the salad give your skin a necessary moisture boost after enjoying all those delicious glasses of mulled wine. The salmon and olive oil ensure young, supple skin. All in all, this dish is completely healthy! Enjoy this delicious recipe and glowing skin by following these steps:

Ingredients (4 persons)

  • 50 grams of quinoa
  • half a cucumber
  • 1 chicory
  • half a lemon
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (extra virgin)
  • 100 grams of smoked salmon
  • 2 tablespoons alfalfa or red cabbage sprouts (mild sprouts)
  • a pinch of salt and pepper
  • 3 tablespoons coriander or flat-leaf parsley

Preparation method

  1. Prepare the quinoa according to the instructions on the package and let it drain well and cool.
  2. In the meantime, cut the cucumber into half-centimeter strips. Mix the cucumber with the chicory, lemon juice, fresh herbs and olive oil.
  3. Stir the quinoa into the salad and season with salt and pepper. Spoon the salad into 4 bowls.
  4. Cut the salmon into strips and place loosely on the salad. Sprinkle with the sprouts and voilà!

Merry Christmas

Enjoy these delicious recipes with friends and family and contribute to healthy, supple skin! This way you can get through Christmas with radiant skin and you don’t have to worry about dull skin when you celebrate New Year’s Eve. Have fun!
