Wow! Prince Harry receives an important award

What an honor!

From next week, Prince Harry can call himself a “living legend”! The prince will be honored with a Living Legends of Aviation Award. The 21st edition of this annual event, which takes place in Beverly Hills, will be presented by none other than actor (and experienced pilot) John Travolta! During the ceremony, a total of four people will be honored for their valuable contributions to the aviation sector.

Living Legends

Harry himself served in the British Army for ten years, where he took part in various training and combat missions, including in Afghanistan. He will receive the honorable award for all this work on Friday, January 19.

The Duke of Sussex will be honored as a Living Legend of Aviation together with three others: fellow pilots Fred George, Marc Parent and Steve Hinton will also receive an award. And that’s not just any award: actor Morgan Freeman once described the award ceremony as “the Oscars of aviation”.

Invictus Games

Harry’s dedication to aviation extends beyond his own time in the military. For example, in 2014 he founded the Invictus Games, a major sporting event for Paralympic soldiers and veterans. His efforts at this foundation are also partly responsible for the fact that he is now receiving the award.

During the 2022 Invictus Games, Harry made it clear once again how much this foundation is close to his heart. In a speech, the prince said: “Every member of the Invictus community has experienced these things to some extent in his or her life. I have enormous respect for what they and their families sacrifice as part of their military service.”

Nice words

In a statement on the Living Legends of Aviation website, you can read more about the reasons behind Harry’s nomination: “Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, is a humanitarian and a military veteran. He actively advocates for mental well-being and environmental awareness. He has dedicated his life to advancing causes he is passionate about that create lasting change.”

Wow, those aren’t just words! It is still unclear whether Harry himself will be present at the ceremony, but he can certainly be very proud.
