‘I’m really looking forward to all kinds of wigs that I will wear again’
We recently shared the very good news that Gooische Vrouwen is returning to the air. With (almost) the entire original cast, we can enjoy a lot of drama around the glamorous group of friends from ‘t Gooi later this year. Now actor Alex Klaasen has already revealed that major steps will be taken very soon for this long-awaited reboot.
Hit series returns
For five seasons we were able to enjoy the ups and downs of Cheryl (Linda de Mol), Claire (Tjitske Reidinga), Anouk (Susan Visser), Willemijn (Annet Malherbe), and Roelien (Lies Visschedijk). From romance to bombings and from designer shoes to very expensive villas: we thoroughly enjoyed the original series.
We couldn’t believe our luck when Talpa officially confirmed at the end of November that the hit series will return! “In collaboration with Videoland, we are working on a new season of the hit series Gooische Vrouwen, based on an idea by Linda de Mol and directed by Will Koopman. After the enormous success of the TV series and two record-breaking cinema films, the four popular friends from Het Gooi will shine on the small screen again at the end of 2024,” the company told RTL Boulevard.
Recordings
And, the recordings for the comeback will start earlier than expected. Our favorite character Yari, aka Alex Klaasen, told the camera of RTL Boulevard when the crew leaves for ‘t Gooi in good spirits. “I will be performing with Gooische Vrouwen from May or June,” he says. After more than 10 years, the actor takes on the role of the colorful stylist Yari again. “I’m really looking forward to all kinds of wigs that I will wear again. I’m really looking forward to playing again,” says Yari. We can’t wait!
However, we don’t have to prepare the popcorn and rosé right away. As we speak, we are working hard on the series, but the eight episodes will not be shown on Videoland until the end of 2024.
‘Very happy’
Director Will Koopman previously also announced that she is over the moon with the return of the series. “I’m really looking forward to it. We are working on the scripts now. The old feeling comes back,” she shared with the ANP when asked. That bodes well!
Linda de Mol went a little further, and even revealed some details about the cast of the reboot. “I am really looking forward to playing with Susan, Tjitske, Lies and Will, who also turned out to be true friends in real life,” she told her own magazine. “Will Koopman will again take charge and everyone will participate again.” All four Gooische Vrouwen, Martin Morero, Aunt Cor, Doctor Rossi, and so… Yari!
