That’s a fashionable comeback by the Belgian Crown Princess.
Princess Elisabeth has flown back from Oxford and – as befits a true royal – is using the time until the holidays wisely. The heir to the throne carries out the last royal duties just before Christmas, including a visit to the hospital named after her.
Comeback
Since Elisabeth set foot on Belgian soil again, the Crown Princess is completely up and running. Earlier this week she already beamed at a Christmas reception organized by the Belgian royal family, and yesterday she continued that line mercilessly. The eldest daughter of Filip and Mathilde visited the Princess Elisabeth Children’s Hospital in Ghent.
In the hospital, Elisabeth spoke to the staff, but also divided her attention among several young patients. In addition, there was of course room for a lot of polite laughter – and: a stunning outfit.

The princess does not often go on a working visit, but when she does, she likes to use the opportunity to purchase a new look – and of course we understand that all too well. This time too, the visit was preceded by a lengthy shopping session. Elisabeth appeared in a pistachio green velvet ensemble by designer Dries van Noten. Under the suit she wore a gray mesh top. Just like during the Christmas reception, the princess opted for mother’s earrings from Carolina Herrera.
The working visit had a nostalgic touch for Elisabeth. It was not the first time that she made an appearance in the hospital: in 2011, as a 9-year-old, adorable princess, she cut the ribbon at the opening. The heir apparent has now grown into an adult princess with fashion sense. And she can be a little proud of that!
