We know this one all too well!
William and Kate are of course a true dream team. But with all the royal obligations, duties as mom and dad, and the regular chores around the house, the two will certainly bicker a bit every now and then. This became clear again this week during a radio interview. And what does such a royal couple argue about? That turns out to be very recognizable!
Power couple
A royal romance is often accompanied by a lot of drama. Divorces, affairs, and endless rumors – it sometimes seems never ending. Fortunately, there are also a number of royal couples where everything is always roses – with Wills and Kate as a shining example, right?
However, as in any relationship, the Waleses can have a lot of bickering among themselves. This week they were guests in the BBC Radio 1 program Going Home with Vick and Jordan on Radio 1 and the couple was asked about their evening routines. Because well – when after a long day the Gianvito Rossi pumps are kicked aside and little George, Charlotte and Louis are picked up from school… how do the prince and princess divide the household chores?
Bicker
The listeners received a small live demonstration of this! Kate immediately turned to her husband and asked: “Are you cooking tonight?” Wills responds nicely evasively: “No, I think it’s going to be curry tonight, right?”
Kate sees the mood again and asks: “So you’re looking at me?” To this, the Crown Prince hits back with a quick: “It depends what time we get back.” Ultimately, Kate gives in and agrees: “Yes, it will probably be curry or salmon teriyaki… something like that.” Oh good. For the sake of convenience, we assume that Wills did the washing up and vacuuming that evening. A little fair sharing is nice, right?
Curry
This is also not the first time that the royals have made public their love for curry. During a visit to Birmingham earlier this year, for example, they took a look behind the scenes at a curry house and revealed that they secretly test curry restaurants throughout the country.
Kate said at the time that curries bring a good dose of nostalgia for her, and that she doesn’t mind a little spice in her food. William, however, takes a more gentle approach. “I am a masala man,” said the crown prince.
In the BBC Radio 1 interview, the Prince of Wales once again agreed that spicy curries are not for him. “I can’t have too much spice. I then start to sweat – it’s quite unattractive,” the prince explains. Anyway, since Kate likes some extra pepper… how do they solve this? Kate shares: “I have to cook the curry, then add the spices – extra spices at the end.” Ha! How wonderfully ordinary they have remained, nun?
