They could just make sure that you have less chance of getting that dream job.
You may not expect it, but your resume could just make you less likely to get that dream job. Therefore, make sure that you do not make the three mistakes below.
No go
You are looking for a job and come into contact with a recruiter. And now? First of all, they want to know who you are as a person, and your CV is often sufficient for this. But did you know that there are a few big turnoffs according to recruiting employees? For example, a flashy CV is a real no-go. You will want to avoid these three things from now on. Are they coming:
1. Long bullet points
Do you have a lot of bullet points on your resume? While this is the best way to neatly summarize your experiences, it’s best not to make it too long. So stick to a maximum of two lines. You just want to highlight a few key points and achievements that reflect your strongest skills.
2. Too many different fonts
Avoid large fonts and too much bold, italic or underlined text. Because: less is more. It is often overwhelming and unnecessary, unless of course you are applying for a position that requires visual creativity (think graphic designer). Is this not required? Then keep the style and formatting as simple as possible, and use good-looking fonts.
3. A multi-page resume
Now you don’t have to worry if your CV is longer than one page, but keep it to a maximum of three pages. If you have had many previous jobs, remove the jobs that are not related to the position you are applying for. Know which skills are most relevant to the position. Good luck!
