3 ways to combat the winter blues

This way you will get through the winter days a lot happier.

In winter we can roughly divide people into two categories: the group that completely revives when December begins, and the group that temporarily sees life as less rosy. If you fall into the latter category, there is a good chance that you are suffering from the winter blues. Fortunately, you can easily combat this with these three tips.

A sunny look

One of the biggest causes of winter blues is the lack of light. Many people go to work early in the morning in the dark and return home in the dark. It can therefore help to go for a walk, for example at lunchtime. This isn’t enough for you? Then there are special light glasses. These glasses mimic natural daylight, even on the bleakest winter days. Wearing the glasses for about 30 minutes every morning gives your body extra energy.

Vitamin D

During winter, the sun comes out less often, which means your body produces less vitamin D. This essential vitamin plays a major role in regulating your mood and energy levels. Therefore, compensate for the lack of sunlight by adding vitamin D supplements to your daily routine. A real boost!

Keep structure

In the winter months it is tempting to curl up under a warm blanket and let yourself be carried away by the early darkness. Still, it is important to keep a regular rhythm. Get up at fixed times, plan your activities and go to bed at the same time. Structure gives a feeling of control and stability, which is extremely important in the fight against winter blues. Also make sure you get enough relaxation and social interaction to beat the winter blues.
