The brother of the future queen shares all his stories, in particular: the bond with his dog Ella.
Princess Kate’s younger brother, James Middleton, recently announced that he will publish a book, which will be released on September 26, 2024. Speaking to Tatler, he revealed the book will be about his relationship with Ella, an English Cocker Spaniel he adopted when he was 20.
Book
The relationship between James and his dog is strongly emphasized in the book. After all, it is not without reason that the book is called: Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life. The two say they went on an “extraordinary journey of 15 years” together before she passed away last year.

He also talks about other different events in his life. He mentions several royal weddings and tells everything about the first meeting with his wife Alizee.
Engaged, married and parents
The two have now been married since 2021, although they already got engaged in 2019. However, the corona pandemic threw a spanner in the works. Two years later the big news came out that they had tied the knot in the beautiful Bormes-les-Mimosas in Provence.

James and Alizee have now also become parents of their very first child. A great inspiration for him to write a book, as he previously said in conversation with Tatler. “Writing this book has helped me by allowing me to process the journey I went through with Ella.”
Mental health
“Ella was there at many important moments in my life,” he said. “Also when I met Alizee. Our son was born after Ella died, so Inigo never met her. It’s important to me that he knows everything about her. One of the reasons I wanted to write this book was so I could tell Inigo the story of how I met his mother.”
He also said that Ella was an important factor for his mental health. “We’re often advised that it’s good to talk, but I know first-hand how difficult that can be when you’re struggling with something like depression. My therapist suggested talking out loud to Ella as the first step. This made me realize how powerful it can be to put things into words.”
