Ooh: Joost will compete against these acts during the Eurovision Song Contest final

It is also already known when Joost will perform on Saturday!

It could not have been otherwise: last night it became clear in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest that the Netherlands will indeed be allowed to participate in the grand final of the music festival on Saturday. And all thanks to Joost Klein.

Second semi-final

After a thrilling semi-final 1, last night was the moment we had been waiting for for months: Joost Klein would finally perform his monster hit Europapa live on the Eurovision stage. Last night, all of the Netherlands sat in front of the TV with copious amounts of popcorn and patience – Joost was the last to appear, thus closing the show festively.

However, not every performance was equally successful. For example, Austrian rave enthusiast Kaleen was not able to get through her rum di dum dums completely smoothly, and the Estonian act seemed more focused on throwing a party than on putting on a good performance.

Finalists

Yet it proves once again that in the world of Eurovision, a false note here or there really doesn’t do you any harm. The list of finalists looks as follows:

  • Greece
  • Switzerland
  • Austria
  • Armenia
  • Latvia
  • Georgia
  • Estonia
  • Israel
  • Norway
  • The Netherlands

The six countries that dropped out this time were Malta, Albania, the Czech Republic, Denmark, San Marino and unfortunately also Belgium, which failed to convince voters at home with their Mustii.

If you can no longer remember which act belonged to which country, here is a summary of the highlights.

Grand Final

Immediately after the show, the organization went to work feverishly on planning the grand finale, which will take place tomorrow evening at Malmö Arena. It is now clear that Joost will perform as the fifth act of the evening in the grand final.

In addition to Joost, these nine acts will compete for the win tomorrow evening. Of course, the finalists from the first semi-final will also be in attendance, as will host country Sweden and the ‘Big Five’ – Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Contenders

Now that we have had the two semi-finals, betting offices and bookmakers have made a big shift in the contenders for the win. For example, Joost has fallen to place 8, Israel has moved up to place 2, and Switzerland is now in third place. The biggest contender, however, would still be the Croatian Baby Lasagna, who already proved during the first semi-final that he can flawlessly get the audience involved in his Rim Tim Tagi Dim.

In any case, we can’t wait for the grand finale!
