It seems that the singer is going to make a comeback as a reality star after twenty years.
In 2004, Gerard Joling appeared in his own reality show Only Joling. Now, twenty years later, there are talks about a possible comeback for the singer as a reality star. There is a good chance that there will soon be a real-life soap with Gerard, and of course we think that’s great.

According to ratings watcher Tina Nijkamp, RTL is investigating the possibility of making a new reality series with Gerard Joling. The singer confirms on Radio 538 that discussions have taken place with the station. “Various programs have indeed been discussed, including a real-life soap.”
Twenty years ago
Gerard says that he would love to return to the air with his own show. “For me, it’s been 20 years since I did that on my own.” At the time he was featured in Only Joling, which was broadcast on the Yorin channel. “Of course you never know: will that be a success again?”, says Gerard.

Although he definitely likes a new TV adventure, the singer wonders whether people are still interested in the ‘single life of Gerard Joling’. “I have no idea. I think there’s enough going on in my life to be able to do it.”

If the wild plans go ahead, Gerard will not need much time to get used to the cameras around him. Nowadays, the singer can also be followed on YouTube – as befits a real reality star. The vlogs in which he takes viewers into his life are viewed tens of thousands of times. If the new reality series does not become an outright hit (which we do not expect, of course), then he at least still has a following to fall back on!
