In the song, Ken expresses his feelings and shows the struggle he has with self-acceptance and the recognition between stereotypes and unrequited love. The song became a real hit and that is why Ryan Gosling gave the song a new look. Er, no less than three new jackets, including one in a Christmas version.
In the Christmas song called I’m Just Ken (Merry Kristmas Barbie), we see Ryan Gosling standing in a studio completely decorated with Christmas lights. Together with artist Mark Ronson he sings I’m Just Ken like you’ve never heard it before.

“Do you think it’s too Christmas?”, Ryan wonders out loud in the video clip. Even though it is dark in the studio, Ryan puts on sunglasses just before his performance. “Because the world can have Ken’s voice but only Barbie can have his eyes.” Aaahw!
The song is part of an EP, consisting of several songs.
