New Year’s goals that you must maintain in 2024

Just a few more days and we will start the new year. Have you already set your New Year’s goals? Every year, many people start their New Year’s resolutions on January 1, but whether they keep them up is often the question. We therefore share a number of New Year’s goals that you really need to maintain in 2024.

Less screen time

This New Year’s goal probably speaks for itself. Many people have already been scrolling through social media before they get out of bed. Try putting your cell phone aside more often. Not only is it often bad for your eyes and mental health, it also costs you a lot of time that could probably be better spent.

Learn new things

To develop yourself you must be open to learning new things. For example, look for a new hobby or try out new recipes. These things don’t have to be big at all, but they are of course allowed. Ask yourself: ‘what have I always wanted to do?’ and then get to work on it.

In general, the Dutch are very individualistic. Although we truly love the people around us, we also want the best for ourselves. So take good care of yourself in 2024. First of all, prioritize your own health, but also pay attention to yourself financially.

‘Do what makes you happy’ ties in nicely with the previous heading ‘pay attention to yourself’. Doing things that make you happy will only have positive effects on your mental and physical health. It’s your life, so why fill your life with things that don’t make you happy. Have you always wanted to take a trip to America? Who’s stopping you?

Ensure a good structure

Besides the fact that it is good to do what makes you happy, you must of course remain realistic. To earn money you will have to work and to get a diploma you will have to study. Make sure you have a good structure and also plan rest days, because you also need them to be at your best during all those other days.

Tip: set goals for your New Year’s goals. For example, if you have the goal of exercising more, think about how often you want to exercise. Or maybe you want to spend less money, think about how much money you want to save. This increases the chance that you will actually maintain your New Year’s goals.
