4X Ways to Remove Limescale

You cannot simply remove limescale, a cloth and cleaner are not enough. We have a number of tips to get rid of it.

1. Cleaning agent against limescale

This tip may be very obvious, but did you know that there are special cleaning products that can specifically remove deposits? Regular cleaning products from the supermarket can also be used, but not all products can be used on every surface and some chemicals should absolutely not come into contact with deposits. Therefore, read the label carefully so that you do not damage the surface or your health.

2. Lemon

There is a rule: the more acidic the agent, the better it can remove the limescale. It is therefore not surprising that lemon is a perfect remedy against tarnish. You can use the lemon in two different ways: rub it over the stain or use just the juice:

  1. For milder stains, cut the lemon in half and rub the inside of one half over the stain. Let this soak in for a few minutes and then rinse it clean with water. The tarnish is completely gone!
  2. For more stubborn deposits, it is better to squeeze a lemon and put this juice in a bowl. Then place a cloth in it and soak it completely with lemon juice. Then place the cloth on the spot with deposits and leave it for half an hour. After half an hour, remove the cloth and rinse the area well with water. Here too, the deposits will have disappeared like snow in the sun.

3. Vinegar

Everyone has this product in their cupboard, especially because it can be used for almost everything. From carpets and stains in clothing to the toilet bowl and grout: you can really use this cleaning product endlessly. And removing limescale is no exception. You can use either cleaning vinegar or regular vinegar for this, but cleaning vinegar has more acid, which means that limescale will disappear in no time.

4. Buttermilk

Another product with a very high acidity: and that is why it is the perfect cleaning agent for removing deposits. It may seem a bit unnatural to spread buttermilk on your limescale, but it really works: dip a cloth in the buttermilk and place it on the limescale. Let it soak in overnight and rinse thoroughly with hot water in the morning. Then dry the area with a dry cloth and you will see that there are no deposits left.
