It’s almost time! Tomorrow the three-day state visit from Luxembourg to Belgium starts. Today we look back on Belgium’s state visit to Luxembourg in 2019.
Wow, what a beautiful dress Queen Mathilde wore during the state banquet. I am very curious to know which dresses Queen Mathilde and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa will wear on Wednesday evening. And, no less important, which tiaras we will see!
The agenda on the website of the Belgian royal family does not state that Princess Elisabeth will be present at the state banquet on Wednesday evening. But no people are mentioned, so I secretly hope…
Back to 2019. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde traveled by train to Luxembourg. On the first day of the state visit, Queen Mathilde wore a green floral dress from Natan. Her green headdress “Maëlle”, from Fabienne Delvigne, is made of the same material as Mathilde’s cloak.
The state banquet is always something to look forward to. A world full of glitter and glamour. Queen Mathilde wore her beautiful purple dress from Armani Privé.
During the second day of the state visit, Queen Mathilde wore an orange/ochre-colored turban. The floral design of Mathilde’s dress is incorporated on the turban. The Fiona handbag, like the turban from Delvigne, is also in orange/ochre.
The return is generally something to look forward to, in terms of clothing. Queen Mathilde wore a gala gown by Natan, while Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie wore a pink gown with embroidery by Oscar de la Renta.
On the third and final day of the state visit to Luxembourg, the queen wore an ocher yellow skirt with a checked cape on the outside. She also wore the “Tino” hat from Maison Fabienne Delvigne. This is a version of a small beret, decorated with a bow and made from turquoise velvet felt.
Outlook
Which dress do you hope Queen Mathilde will wear during the state banquet? She probably won’t wear the purple dress again. I also think these gowns are definitely worth re-wearing for a state visit:
