Move more
Exercising in the gym is not for everyone. This could be due to the atmosphere in many gyms, or fitness is simply not your thing. Are you looking for an easy activity that requires very little? Then read on, because we have found an effective exercise that will definitely help you become fitter.
What activity burns a lot of calories?
There are various sports that burn a lot of calories, but not every sport is always fun to do. A simple activity that is just as effective and fun is jumping rope! We’re taking a big throwback to the past, when you were always jumping rope with the whole class during the break.
Child can do the laundry, so no more excuses… Jumping rope can burn 15 to 20 calories per minute, say what?! If you do this activity for about fifteen minutes, you will burn 250-300 calories. Be aware that half an hour of jumping rope can burn 500-600 calories. OMG
Other exercises
Not convinced yet? Below we have a list of other exercises compared to jumping rope. We are looking at a thirty minute exercise here.
- Jumping rope: 500-600 calories
- Running: 300-500 calories
- Boxing: 300-400 calories
- Cycling: 200-350 calories
- Swimming: 250 calories
Make it more fun
Jumping rope is apparently a very good exercise to practice if you want to burn a lot of calories. You can find plenty of videos on YouTube for nice music or someone to jump along with you. It may be a bit easier for people with a garden, but your downstairs neighbors just have to close their ears if you’re jumping for half an hour, right?
All jokes aside, we think this sport is great fun and effective. Especially if you are not a fan of the gym. Even if you regularly go to the gym, you can add jumping rope to your workout. A good exercise to end your strength training!
