The perfect tips to grow gray hair beautifully

Embrace your natural beauty.

The transition from dyed hair to your own gray hair color can be difficult. More and more women are choosing their beautiful gray locks. And we wholeheartedly encourage this! Do you also want to embrace those beautiful gray hairs, but do you find those roots a challenge? Top stylist Oliver Adams and celebrity colorist Jack Martin share their top tips to help you get started.

To cut

The fastest way to get rid of your roots is to cut your hair. By cutting off your colored hair, your gray roots have suddenly become the basis of your hairstyle. “My suggestion is always to start with a good haircut. Cutting the old dyed color out of your hair and letting your locks grow back naturally is always the way to the most natural result,” explains Oliver Adams.

Grow naturally

Would you rather not visit the hairdresser? That is also understandable. With a good dose of patience you can also let your hair grow out naturally. Depending on the color your hair is dyed, the contrast with the roots can be quite harsh. You can soften this contrast a bit by putting your hair up nice and loose. “Which updo works best for you depends on several factors. Is the contrast between your roots and dyed hair great? Is your gray hair really white, or more of a ‘salt and pepper’ effect? A visit to a professional can help determine what suits you best,” says Jack Martin, who is a fan of updos with lots of volume.

Semi-permanent coloring

We understand that you want a nice transition between your colored hair and your gray roots. There are so-called ‘root cover-up’ products that, you guessed it, give your roots a color. The difference with paint is that you wash this color out with shampoo. A nice temporary solution when you let your hair grow out.

Paint gray

Are you ready to fully embrace your gray hair? Then it is also an option to dye your entire hair gray. This way, your hair grows gradually and invisibly into its natural gray. Have this done in the salon, because a professional can best determine which shade best suits your roots. Maybe babylights are very suitable for your hair. These wafer-thin highlights give a natural ‘salt and pepper’ effect and make the progression of the growth to your dyed hair beautifully natural. Enough options to create a beautiful gray coupe!
