Yesterday a new couple took on the adventure of Buying Without Looking. Giving a budget to Martijn Krabbé and his team and buying a house without knowing which house it will be remains very exciting. The same goes for Deyar and Amanch. What if you are not (immediately) happy with the house that is bought for you?
Deyar and Amanch in Buy Without Looking
The couple that was featured yesterday in Kopen Zonder Kijken were Deyar and pregnant Amanch. With the baby on the way, they outgrew their current home and it was high time to move. It was immediately noticeable that they had high standards. They wanted a single-family home in Delft with four bedrooms and a bath for a budget of €500,000. This turned out to be an impossible task for real estate agent Alex van Keulen. As a result, Deyar and Amanch had to adjust their requirements enormously to buy a house in Delft. In addition, they had different wishes in the beginning. Deyar wanted to stay in Delft and Amanch wanted to live with her family in Almere. Yet in the end Delft was the best choice.
Not an immediate feeling of being at home
Throughout the process, Deyar and Amanch had many uncertainties in their minds. “Have we passed on the right wishes to the experts? What will be the location of the house? How are they going to renovate?” were, for example, questions that haunted the couple. It didn’t matter much before the couple withdrew from the program. When they continued, they discovered that they also had to make concessions, which they found very difficult. As a result, they let go of their preference for certain neighborhoods. As a result, they now live in a larger house than they originally requested.
Even though it was a beautiful house, Deyar and Amach did not immediately feel at home. “We often said to each other: when are we going home again? You don’t get to experience the entire renovation process, so it felt like a big bang at the end: just sit down, this is your house.” Only after three months, when they returned from a holiday, did it feel like coming home. This is mainly because there are now more personal items and it feels less like a hotel room.

Most beautiful place in the house
Fortunately, after three months the couple really felt at home and they really like the house. The bedroom and bathroom in particular are their favorite places in the house. They also love the walk-in closet and the sofa in the living room. They also enjoy the guest rooms for when friends and family come over.
And the move was not in vain, because the little baby on the way, Joline, also took her first step into the house. “She enjoys it here so much, that really makes this house our home,” says Amanch. Deyar also thinks the environment is a plus: “The neighborhood, the neighbors, it is very child-friendly. There are many playgrounds and a petting zoo. You don’t see it in the episode, but we really live in nature, you can easily walk into the polder.”
For the time being, the couple is in a good place here in Delft and they are extremely happy. Secretly they have another wish for the future, to move to Almere in ten years’ time. They are very happy that they participated and extremely grateful for what it has brought them.
