Hardly anything has changed, right?
In the last season of Echte Gooische Moeders we were once again able to enjoy the adventures of Leslie Keijzer and her Gooische friends. And we were secretly curious: what did mother-of-two Leslie actually look like as a child?
From Gooish girl to Gooish mother
Leslie Keijzer first appeared on TV in 2008, when she appeared together with Pauline, Florine, Kimberly and Bo in Echte Gooische Meisjes. We closely followed the lives of the ladies in the Gooi, from designer clothes and expensive cars to spacious villas and distant holidays. The series was extremely popular, and 1.5 years later we were treated to a second season.
After that we unfortunately had to miss the Gooische ladies for a while. But then Videoland suddenly appeared, with the series Echte Gooische Moeders! The concept was basically the same, including the original cast. Only the ladies were now in a completely different phase of their lives.
Candid and versatile
Despite the stereotype surrounding TV shows, Leslie has shown that she is much more than just a luxury horse. At the end of last year, she shared some special news with her Instagram followers: Leslie is going to write her own book!
She captioned the post: “Finally it’s time to share my deepest feelings and experiences about my (postnatal) depression. With this book I hope to tell my personal, complete story, not only for the mothers who recognize my story, but to tell my story to people who do not recognize it and to break the taboo. I will take you through the writing process in the coming months.” So cool!
Write a book
To write her book, Leslie not only consulted herself, she also recently enlisted the help of a childhood friend. She shares the following on Instagram: “Sitting in front of my book again today. This time with my friend Jolien who I have known all my life. Friends from ‘birth’. We talked about our youth, pregnancies, births and the period afterwards. It is special to have experienced many of the same things, but also to have experienced them differently. I would like to show different sides in the book about my postpartum recovery and how others have experienced this with me, but also with themselves. It was a special day”
And, of course, such a trip down memory lane also includes some throwback snapshots. The second photo in the post below shows a very young Leslie. In case the brown locks didn’t make it clear, she is the girl in the middle. Aww!
