British royals chat with F1 bosses in Bahrain

While a good number of the senior royals are currently not performing official duties on behalf of the British royal family, a number of Windsors showed up this weekend in sun-drenched Bahrain, where the first F1 race of the season took place.

British in Bahrain

Our Dutch team naturally likes to show up in Zandvoort, when the Formula 1 races take place there. However, a number of Windsors even flew to distant Bahrain, where the new F1 season started last weekend with screeching tires.

For example, attentive viewers managed to spot Duchess Sarah with her daughter, Princess Eugenie, and son-in-law, Jack Brooksbank, during the broadcast this Saturday. They clearly had a good time with their VIP passes!

There was also a nice chat with the F1 celebrities present, such as (the somewhat controversial) Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner. But hey, Fergie is of course used to controversy.

Tindalls spotted

In addition to the York Duchess and Princess, Princess Anne’s offspring were also present at the race. For example, son Peter Phillips, daughter Zara Tindall and son-in-law Mike Tindall pose pleasantly next to one of the lightning-fast cars, which, according to experts here at the office, belongs to our own Max Verstappen.

It’s a bit bitter for British driver Lewis Hamilton that his fellow countrymen would rather pose with the Red Bull car than with his Mercedes car, but whatever. One is of course the reigning champion, and the other is not. We understand the Princess Royal’s offspring!

Absentees

Meanwhile, things are less cheerful on the home front. There, both King Charles and Princess Kate are out of action for medical reasons. Recently, Prince William also canceled an important event against all odds, and now even Queen Camilla is said to have taken a break.

The families around Princess Anne and Prince Andrew have no role as working royals, but now that everything seems to be going wrong at the British court, some royalty fans are cautiously wondering whether it isn’t time for the royal ranks to be strengthened. Windsor descendants. Well: solemnly in a royal straightjacket, or enjoy a racing spectacle? Hopefully Eugenie, Peter, Zara, and Mike don’t have to choose!
