This way you turn your me-time into a true luxury

Me-time, how wonderful it is. You really have a moment for yourself. You can now relax. Do you want to take your me-time to a higher level? This is how you make your self-care evening feel like a true luxury.

Only do one thing at a time

In our lives we are constantly multitasking. Even during our self-care ritual, it sometimes feels like we always have to do, see and hear something. You are watching a movie but in between you are shopping online. Or you’re listening to a podcast while doing your skincare. It’s okay to want multiple stimuli every now and then. But sometimes it’s also good to focus on one thing at a time. This allows you to really enjoy your me-time and not be distracted by the other things you are doing.

Only do things you really want to do

But, only do things you really want to do. If you have started doing something and are constantly tempted to take on another activity, you may start to wonder whether this is the right pastime. After all, it is your me-time.

Put some extra time and effort into your snacks and meals

A good self-care day is not complete without a good meal and tasty snacks. Treat yourself to a meal that you really like. This can sometimes mean spending a little more time or a little more money on it. Today you are completely worth that (and actually always). Invest in those tasty snacks that you would like to have every day or buy your favorite bottle of wine. Don’t you like standing in the kitchen for a long time? Then you can also make your snacks and/or meal feel special by serving it in a unique way. For example, add some nutritional yeast to your microwave popcorn for a unique umami taste. Or if you are going to order food, order from a more upscale restaurant.

Treat yourself like a guest at a spa or hotel

And as a final tip, we actually have the most important tip! Treat yourself as if you were a guest at a spa or hotel. Give yourself that face mask and those nice warm blankets. Act as if you are having people over and treat yourself as you would treat your guests. Light a nice scented candle and enjoy! This way you give yourself the luxurious me-time experience that you would grant to someone else.
