Prince Harry (39) can be happy! The royal served in the British military for years. The son of King Charles (75) acted as a helicopter pilot. Among other things, he flew training missions in the USA, Great Britain and Australia as well as combat missions in Afghanistan. However, the father of two stopped working in June 2015. Now Harry will receive an award for his commitment to the British military.
As DailyMail reports, the prince next Friday at this year’s 21st Annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards. The event’s website highlights Harry’s military service as well as his efforts as a “humanitarian, mental wellness advocate and environmentalist.” His work with various charities is also mentioned.
In his book “Reserve,” Harry wrote about his time in the military. He revealed that he had killed 25 Taliban during his operations. “[Es ist] a number that neither satisfies me nor makes me uncomfortable,” he explained. For him, the people who were shot were chess pieces that were thrown from the game board.
