A lot of blue blood in one stand!
This weekend in Monaco the crème de la crème of the tennis world competed for the coveted title of the Monte Carlo Masters. Naturally, plenty of Grimaldis attended, and a few other royal faces appeared in the stands.
Royals on the sidelines
At every self-respecting tennis tournament there is an element of nobility to the spectators. For example, Prince William and Princess Kate regularly enjoy Wimbledon in the summer, and the princely couple of Monaco also regularly attend the Monte Carlo Masters.
The thrilling final was on the program last weekend, and that meant that the royal family also showed up in the stands. Charlene and Albert were present together with their son Jacques. Princess Gabriella was absent, and in her place, confidant Melanie-Antoinette de Massy seems to have secured a place in the royal box.
While almost the entire Grimaldi family and their relatives appear to be dressed in a navy-blue uniform, Beatrice Borromeo, the wife of Pierre Casiraghi, opts for a striking turquoise outfit. And oh, don’t blame her.
As we have come to expect from Beatrice as a professional brand ambassador, she is dressed from head to toe in Dior. Even her accessories, such as the rose gold earrings, sunglasses, and handbag, come from the French label.
Mother and son also shared a sweet moment along the line. What could Char have whispered to her son here? Who knows! In any case, the couple looked business casual yet regal with their matching outfits.
Princess Alexandra of Hanover also made an appearance with her friend Ben-Sylvester Strautmann.
In short: a fun family outing for the Grimaldi’s! We just hope Gabriella didn’t have to miss this outing against her will…
Italian princesses
By the way, the Monegasque royals were not the only royal noses in the stands. Princesses Maria Carolina and Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Sicily also came to the match with their father, Prince Carlo.
