King Charles (75) is preparing for a special meeting. The British monarch has been traveling a lot since his coronation last year. He regularly visited the countries of the so-called Commonwealth, but also traveled to other countries. Among other things, he was also in Germany. A very special trip is coming up for the first time in the new year: Charles is expecting a very special summit meeting in Australia.
Reports from Hello! According to Charles, his wife Camilla (76) will visit Australia and New Zealand this year. But this is not a classic state visit. As part of a long-distance trip, he will take part in a meeting of all heads of government of the Commonwealth in October. This meeting is special because it only takes place every two years. An Australian government spokesman previously told the media that “the Prime Minister maintains a warm relationship with the King and looks forward to welcoming His Majesty to Australia later this year.”
After Charles was officially crowned head of state, he made his first foreign trip as king just a few weeks later. But it wasn’t an official visit – the 75-year-old first treated himself to a vacation. He went on a hike in the mountains of Transylvania and recharged his batteries in a lonely mountain hut. There is said to have been no television or radio in his hut.
