In any case, one thing is clear: rugby runs the family!
Mike Tindall is now – together with his wife Zara Tindall – the proud parent of three children. So first there was Mia, then Lena and third came Lucas. And although he is of course just as proud of his daughters as he is of his son, he recently revealed a special detail about his son Lucas.
Baby Lucas
Speaking to The Telegraph, the former rugby player said: “The first thing Lucas ever watched as soon as he was born was (the rugby match, ed.) Bath vs Wigan in 1996, which happened to be on TV.” Mind you: little Lucas was twenty minutes old at that time. “Hopefully he will also watch rugby in the future,” the proud father added.
Acceptance and support
But are Tindall’s other kids also fans of the sport? “Mia isn’t really into it at the moment, so we’ll have to wait and see. Lena still plays (rugby, ed.).”
The father of three also adds how Zara feels about it. He revealed that his wife will always support her children if they want to follow in their father’s footsteps. “We have talked about it and if there are any difficulties, we will both support their wishes. We allow them to make and make their own decisions, and as a parent you just have to accept and support that.”
Complete admiration
However, this isn’t the first time Tindall has spoken candidly about the sport and his children. A while ago he told HELLO! Magazine: “Mia and Lena both go to the Rugby Club on Sundays. They are only nine and four, so we have to give them some time before the pressure comes on. But both love all sports, so they also play rugby.”
Even then, he had full admiration for his wife: “Her passion, her compassion, her dedication… these are some of the qualities that make her a fantastic mother.”
