King Harald will remain in hospital for the time being

Fortunately, son Haakon reports that things are already improving with the frost.

Following the news that King Harald had been hospitalized again due to an infection, the Norwegian court is now sharing an update on the monarch’s health. Crown Prince Haakon also lets us know how his father is doing.

Birthday holiday

Earlier this week, the Norwegian court announced that King Harald had fallen ill again. To celebrate his 87th birthday, the monarch stayed in tropical Malaysia, but an infection forced him to cancel his birthday holiday. Harald has been admitted to a hospital at his holiday destination. “The king receives good guidance from both Malaysian and Norwegian medical staff,” the Norwegian court reported at the time.

Norwegian court

While the British court is rather sparing with updates on Kate’s recovery, the Norwegians are more than happy to keep us informed about Harald’s health. It has not even been three days since the last statement, but the Norwegian court has shared another update. Harald will stay in the hospital for a few more days. “The King’s personal physician is in Langkawi and confirms that he is recovering from his infection. His Majesty is being well cared for in hospital and receiving proper treatment,” the statement said.

Prince Haakon

Crown Prince Haakon can also provide some clarity about his father’s recovery. “We spoke with my mother and father this morning, it seems that his health has improved slightly,” said the heir to the throne. “He needs rest. But it’s good that he’s doing better.”

We previously predicted that Harald would get through this again, given his medical records in recent years. And it looks like we’re right. Great to hear that the bright boy is doing well!
