The tenth season of Over Mijn Lijk is now over and once again the tears have flowed. Unfortunately, we also had to say goodbye to two brave young people: Zoë and Jeffrey. But luckily everything else is going well so far. Although life remains uncertain, of course, for Eva (25), for example. She is certainly a little afraid of death and nowadays also makes plans ‘subject to change’.
How is Eva from Over My Corpse doing now?
In the popular, but also very emotional TV program Over My Corpse we meet 25-year-old Eva. In 2021 she was diagnosed with lung cancer and still struggles with this incurable disease. Yet in the meantime, just like the other young people from Over Mijn Lijk, she knows how to get the most out of life. We see the always smiling Eva marry her great love Matthijs and throw a ’25 for life’ party. A big milestone for someone, for which it never becomes clear how long she has. Fortunately, Eva makes it to the end of season 10 of Over Mijn Lijk, but her future still remains uncertain, she says on the talk show Sophie & Jeroen.
The uncertainty started the moment she developed a metastasis in her head. “Then I got eight months,” she says. “But yes, it has now been more than a year. So that doesn’t mean everything.” There are always peaks and valleys. She is happy that you also see this in the TV program, which is made by presenter Tim Hofman and his team.
Appointment subject to change
So Eva knows that she does not have long to live. It always remains a guess. Nevertheless, she remains a positive and cheerful person, as we also see in the images. That actually comes quite easily to her. “I’m a happy person anyway,” she says. “I can’t sit with things for long.” For example, if she gets a rash, she will of course feel bad for a while. “And then I just keep going,” she says simply. “You can worry about it, but it’s of no use.” As mentioned, life goes on as usual. She still meets up with friends and family. Although the agreements are now ‘subject to change’.
A near-death experience in June 2023 made Eva more afraid of death. “I now really plan a maximum of three months in advance,” she says. And actually she thinks that’s already a long way off. But she just needs to spend time with friends and family.

Reunion
Eva is doing well for now and also with Jegor and Maaike. Only Zoë and Jeffrey unfortunately didn’t make it to 2024, so we won’t see them again in a possible reunion of Over Mijn Lijk. Although viewers of the TV program may wonder how the relatives of these two are doing. The intimacy of the program makes viewers a little more involved with the participants than usual. That is why Over My Corpse always has a special reunion episode. Only it was unknown when the season 10 reunion will take place… until now! For example, Veronica Superguide now reports that the reunion will appear on TV in the autumn of 2024. A precise date will follow later this year.
