“Charles can spend more time with his grandchildren, and he is very happy about that,” said an insider.
Rumor has it that Charles has taken his role as grandfather a little more seriously since becoming king. Most of the family lives in Windsor, which means Charles can spend a lot more time with (almost) all of his grandchildren.
More time for the grandchildren
Charles has reportedly stepped up his grandfatherly duties now that most of his family lives in Windsor. This way he would show a lot more devotion to his family in addition to all the other duties he has to perform as king.
Relocation
William and Kate, together with their offspring, have now moved to Adelaide Cottage, which is located on the Windsor estate. Charles therefore has a lot more time to visit his grandchildren in between all his royal duties.
A source told The Mail on Sunday: “Charles wants to spend more time with his grandchildren. There is so much love there. They used to live miles apart, but geographically they are now much closer. So Charles can spend more time with them, and he is very happy about that.”
Spend more time
Many people are giving kudos to Queen Camilla and Princess Kate for bringing the family together. In addition, Prince William has also shown that he finds strengthening the family bond very important. For example, he said in an interview in 2018 that he would ‘wish he (King Charles, ed.) had more time with the children’.
Charles is now over seventy and will be eighty in five years’ time. High time to pick up his grandfather duties, Wills said in the same interview. “Like most families you are concerned about his health – even though he is the fittest man I know – but I also want him to stay fit until he is 95. So spending more time with him at home would be wonderful, also for the children. When he’s there, it’s great.”
