You’ll be a lot more productive for the rest of the day.
You start the day early, only to get lost in your mailbox until lunch and not have completed anything on your to-do list. Recognizable? Start your workday with these four tasks and you will be a lot more productive for the rest of the day.
1. Start with your most difficult task
Research shows that you have the most willpower and energy in the morning. Take advantage of this and start with the most difficult task of the day as soon as you sit in your office chair. Afterwards you feel relieved and satisfied; the perfect mood to start the rest of your tasks!
2. Only answer the most urgent emails
The biggest pitfall there is: starting with all those unopened emails in your inbox. Therefore, only answer the most urgent emails in the morning. This way you can quickly continue with other tasks and process other emails later in the day.
3. Make a to-do list and plan everything
Have you completed the most important and urgent tasks? Then you can focus on a realistic to-do list. Plan all your tasks and indicate approximately how long it will take you. Tip: divide large tasks into smaller pieces so that you can complete them faster and stay motivated.
4. Consultation with colleagues
By discussing each other’s tasks, you are more informed about the state of affairs and you have a better idea of what still needs to be done. This way, no misunderstandings can arise and you can start your to-do list with a clear vision.
