These outfits are not done at a wedding

Do you take notes?

Is your (best) friend, sister or niece getting married soon and you have no idea (yet) what to wear? Then read the tips below so that you can avoid an outfit debacle and are guaranteed to look radiant.

Don’t wear white

It seems so obvious, but it often goes wrong. No matter how simple your outfit is, if it is white, you should not wear it. With one exception: and that is if the bride enters the color white as the dress code. But that is really the only exception.

Adhere to the dress code

That brings us to the second point. If there is a dress code on the invitation, you are not supposed to ignore it. Even if you don’t like pastel shades, you still have to dance to the bride’s tune. After all, it’s not your big day.

Avoid revealing clothing

You should not wear semi-sheer lace, tulle or organza to a wedding, because this will make you outshine the bride and that is of course not the intention.

Comfortable shoes

Shoes with an 11 centimeter heel are nice, but make sure you can walk in them like a doe. Isn’t this the case? Save yourself (and the rest of the group) the pain and effort and choose comfortable shoes. Nothing is more annoying than having sore feet at a party that lasts a long time…

No black

Although black tie is an increasingly common theme at weddings, black attire at weddings is still generally associated with funerals. Are you unsure whether you can do the color or not? Please check with the master of ceremonies to avoid disappointment.
