I don’t know what Máxima has, but after a few sober years – during which I started to wonder where fashion queen Máxima had gone – she is now completely back on track. Today she was every inch a queen again during a meeting at the Jaarbeurs.
The Queen attended the Global Leadership Exchange (GLE) in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. This biennial meeting brings together leaders in mental health, disability and addiction care from around the world to exchange knowledge and inspire each other. The GLE is organized every two years. The theme of this edition is ‘Leading Change: Flourishing Communities and Wellbeing for All’.
Fashion
As I mentioned in the intro, Máxima chose a royal set for the meeting. Her dress with a subtle floral design is etched. When etching textiles, a substance of at least two components is partly treated with a solvent or laser. Because certain components cannot withstand this, parts of the fabric dissolve and an airy (!) pattern with an intriguing relief is created. Perfect for a hot summer day!
The dress is a design by Natan.
The garment debuted during the state visit to Italy in 2017.
It has been in regular service ever since.
