A masterclass in elegance.
Next week it’s that time again: the equestrian event of the year will start. From June 18th the party will start again at the Ascot Racecourse. Of course, in addition to all kinds of treasure-rich bobos, several royals are also present here. We delve into the archives for some of our favorite royal looks over the years!
Princess Kate in powder blue, 2019
To start with our favorite outfit: this sugary sweet Elie Saab ensemble from Princess Kate consists of a powder blue skirt with a matching top. The silver clutch was also an Elie Saab copy, and it matched perfectly with her silver Gianvito Rossi stilettos.

We weren’t the only ones who appreciated this look – Catherine herself clearly loved it too. Last year she simply put it on again at one of the Garden Parties. As far as we are concerned, this combination should make an appearance every year!
Zara Tindall in lovely lace, 2023
We more often see Zara Tindall in the saddle at equestrian events than in a glamorous outfit, but the Royal Ascot is an exception to this rule.

Last year she appeared in this beautiful lace creation by Scanlan Theodore. She completed the outfit perfectly with a set of subtle gold jewelry and ditto pumps from Julia Mays. And how nice is that Aspinal London Hat Box Bag? We rarely see Zara this sweet!
Princess Anne in vintage, 2023
Zara’s mother, Princess Anne, also made a big impression last year with her Royal Ascot outfit.

Although this look may not seem very special at first glance, fashion experts quickly spotted that the Princess Royal was wearing an outfit that she had already worn 45 years earlier. Of course, the dress, which she first wore in 1978, will have been amused for the princess in the meantime, but it remains impressive that she still recycles an outfit almost half a century later. Nice and eco-friendly!
Princess Beatrice brightens things up, 2022 and 2023
Princess Beatrice has also always been a welcome face at Royal Ascot over the years. And she regularly appears in cheerful, colorful dresses!

For example, in 2022 the princess wore a beautiful maxi dress from Zimmermann, an Australian brand that has been popular with various royal ladies for years. It was also the second time that Bea wore this dress from the closet, because she had already worn it a few months earlier during the Bahrain Grand Prix.
In 2023, Beatrice again opted for colorful. This time she made her appearance in an impressive Monique Lhuillier gown in regal lace. In any case, we thought it was worth a spot on our best dressed list.
Princess Kate as lady in red
And to conclude, we can’t ignore Kate’s red look from last year.

At the Royal Procession prior to the races she appeared in a custom red dress from fashion house Alexander McQueen. She combined this with a hat from purveyor Philip Treacy.
Kate’s special choice of jewelry stood out even more. For example, she did not wear jewelry from the royal vault, but the princess opted for a set of beautiful statement earrings from the Sézane brand. Price tag? About 95 pounds. It just goes to show: even without a collection of crown jewels, you can still look great at the Royal Ascot.
