A number of creative fans of the popular singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran were able to make their dream come true. For his latest album Autumn Variations, he had fourteen fans make a video clip: each for one of the songs. And the Dutch Renée Schuurmans (24) also got the chance with the song Blue. OMG!
Renée Schuurmans makes a video clip for Ed Sheeran
You can see on her social media that the Dutch Renée Schuurmans is creative. On Instagram she posts beautiful drawings and digital artworks under the name studiorezee. No wonder singer Ed Sheeran chose her to make a video for his song Blue, from the album Autumn Variations. For this album he had a total of fourteen fans make a video clip, each for one of the songs.
Renée says she has been a fan of Ed for “half her life”, since his album +. On YouTube, under the video clip for Blue, she tells, among other things, how he has always been a great inspiration to her. Thanks to him, she started playing guitar and writing songs. She also loves drawing. “Making the music video for his song Blue was truly a dream come true!” said Renee. According to her, it all still feels “a bit unreal”. She is forever grateful to Ed for allowing her to work for him.

Recognizable song
The song Blue fits very well with Renée’s own life, as she says in Ed’s newsletter. The song is about a break up between two friends, something Renée has also experienced. “It allowed me to relate to the text on a deeper level,” she says. The animation in the video clip shows how this break leaves the ‘blue’ feeling in a person’s life. While the person still remembers the friendship, which once felt like “golden sunlight”. Interesting!

Autumn Variations
As mentioned, the song Blue comes from Ed’s album Autumn Variations. This was Ed’s first album, which he released through his own record label Gingerbread Man Records. This makes it his first album to which he owns all rights. It is also a rather personal album. On almost all the songs he collaborated with producer Aaron Dessner, whom he met through his bestie Taylor Swift. “I think he captured the feeling of autumn so beautifully in his sound,” Ed says in an earlier interview about his collaboration with Aaron. “I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”
