Bad mood? This is how you cheer yourself up

We all get out of bed on the wrong side sometimes. You wake up and you’re immediately in a bad mood. Annoying… Fortunately, there are many different ways to cheer yourself up when you’re in a bad mood! These are our five favorite ways.

Treat yourself to something tasty

A ‘little treat’ is a very fun and tasty way to get rid of your bad mood. For example, get a nice coffee or a sandwich on the way to school or work that you can enjoy during lunch. Reward yourself for carrying on even though you feel bad. You deserve this!

Dress yourself nicely

A nice outfit can make your day ten times more fun. Stand in front of your closet in the morning and pick out clothes that make you happy. Think of cheerful colors or items in which you made beautiful memories. To make your outfit even more cheerful, you can also try something bright with your makeup and hair. When you look good, you feel good!

Spend time with nice people

Sometimes the best way to feel better is to be with other people. Let them cheer you up by just chatting with them. For example, look for that one nice colleague at work. If you have a day off, you can also visit your friends or family. Invite your best friend over for a drink or a movie. This turns a bad day into a good day.

Go get some fresh air

Getting some fresh air is also a great way to improve your mood. Sitting inside all day makes no one happy. Go for a walk in a place that calms you down. Think of the forest or the beach. You can also walk through the city and do a bit of people watching. It’s about getting outside, moving and clearing your head. Where and for how long you do this is up to you.

Go do something creative

Artists put their emotions into their art. Now we may not all be Picassos, but we can still use our bad moods to create something beautiful. Express your negative feelings in a way that satisfies you. For example, write a poem or make a drawing. This is not only a very fun activity, it is also a great relief afterwards.
