The nice weather is just around the corner. Time to prepare your car again for these months. Wonderful touring. It is very important to prepare your car for summer. We are going to tell you how to do this. Toot Toot!
This is how you prepare your car for summer
1. Check the air conditioning
Sunny days mean rising temperatures. Also in the car. Then a well-functioning air conditioner is nice. So check it before it really starts to get hot. Did you know that it is also ideal to have air conditioning if you suffer from hay fever? Modern air conditioners have a certain micro filter that keeps the pollen outside the car. So good to check!
2. Replace your tires
Do you still have winter tires on them? Then it is time to call the garage and replace them with summer tires. If you can change your tires yourself, we say do it yourself. The best time to do this is when the outside temperature is 7 degrees or higher. Summer tires have a completely different profile and composition than winter tires. This ensures that you can drive safely outside when it is warm. This is how you prevent accidents.
3. Check the tire pressure
While you are working on the tires, it is better to check the tire pressure immediately. You must do this every two months. As soon as your tires are too soft, they make less contact with the road surface and your tires therefore grip the road less well. It also takes longer to come to a stop when braking. The chance of a blowout is greater and you are also more likely to suffer from aquaplaning. Enough reasons to have the tire pressure checked.
4. Have the brakes checked
In slippery weather you use the brakes a lot. Now that the winter period is here, you should actually have the brakes checked by a mechanic. This way you know that you will be going out with properly functioning brakes this summer.
5. Summer cleaning
Last but not least, a summer cleaning. Your vehicle could use a service. Clean the car with a special car shampoo or a cap of all-purpose cleaner with lukewarm water. Then it’s time to vacuum the dust. Wipe a cloth over the dashboard and steering wheel. Your vehicle is like new again. You go into the summer with a fresh car.
