Before Meghan Markle became Duchess of Sussex, she starred as one of the main characters in the popular TV series Suits. The series ended in 2019, but a small reunion took place last weekend. Meghan’s co-stars Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, and Gabriel Macht were present at the Golden Globes on Sunday evening to present an award together! Meghan herself? Unfortunately that was missing.
Golden Globes
During the Golden Globes, the four actors were presented the award for Best TV Drama together. This went to the Succession series. Suits fans had secretly hoped that Meghan would also appear on stage, but that was not the case. And we understand that, because her title as Duchess of Sussex also comes with an increased security risk.
Yet it was not just wishful thinking, because Meghan occasionally shows up at showbiz events. Last fall, she shone on the red carpet of Variety Magazine’s Power of Women Gala.
According to Suits colleague Gina, they couldn’t invite the Duchess of Sussex anyway because they don’t have her number. “We just don’t have that. But she will definitely see us, she will probably watch and she will probably be happy that we are here now,” the actress told Variety.
Suits spinoff
In November last year it was announced that there would be a spin-off of the popular lawyer series, which will be set in Los Angeles. According to the president of Universal Studios, the series will have “the same energy and beautiful people as the original.”
This spin-off will be written by Aaron Korsh, who also wrote the original Suits. Unfortunately, nothing is known about the cast yet, but we already can’t wait!
Meghan’s return?
Suits colleague Patrick told E! during the Golden Globes! News that he is looking forward to Meghan’s return as an actress. “I think Meghan is a fantastic actress. It would be great to see her back in the world,” he said. He even said that he would love to star in the spin-off with Meghan. “I would definitely do it. I am ready.”
Will Meghan actually return in the LA version of Suits? We don’t think that chance is that great. But it would secretly be a lot of fun of course!
