From Bella Hadid to Princess Kate: everyone seems to be under the spell of tight jeans again.
We’ve seen it all in the past year when it comes to jeans: straight, bootcut, wide leg and everything in between. However, there is an underdog that has never completely gone away, but now seems to be making a strong comeback. Enter: the skinny jeans.
Never completely gone
While some have held skinny jeans in their hearts forever (yes, we’re talking about you, Princess Kate), others have slowly and happily parted with them over the years. But the fact remains that – despite the arrival of countless other jeans models – the skinny never really went away. Tight jeans are and remain an item that you will not easily go wrong with.
Comeback
Whether you like it or not: all supermodels are currently being spotted in skinny jeans again, and that means we can expect a mega comeback. But as is often the case with trends that return to fashion, we style skinny jeans in 2024 a little differently than we did before.
Styling tips
While in the previous skinny jeans era we normally opted for a pair of sneakers and a leather jacket (which is of course nothing wrong with that), we now combine the tight trousers with other items. For example, think of high boots…

We see that today’s fashion princesses especially go well with a looser item in combination with skinny jeans. And although some fashionistas see it as a huge faux pas to combine tight trousers with a tight top, in the end it is of course most important what you feel good about. And if even the Princess of Wales doesn’t care about this fashion rule, we certainly don’t feel compelled to do so.
