No matter what color dress she wears, Máxima always manages to find perfectly matching shoes. How does she do it? I received this reader’s question via the email form. You can read the answer below.
More than half of Máxima’s clothes are bought at Natan. Of course, the style of the Belgian fashion house appeals to her, but there is more. In the couture salon in Brussels, customers can count on a total package. If you buy a dress, you can also order perfectly matching shoes, gloves, hats and jewellery. Natan has a wide collection of accessories in the colour theme of each season and they can also order shoes, hats or gloves in any desired colour and/or fabric. Máxima makes grateful use of this. In the photo below, she is wearing pumps in the colour of her twinset, the bag is made in the fabric of her skirt.
Perfectly matching shoes take a total look to the next level. Below you can see that the yellow fabric for the narrow strip at the waist is also used to cover the Natan pumps.
In the past, Máxima also had her shoes upholstered by Palette Coloured Shoes. If the fabric doesn’t have to match, but the colour does? Then maid Jolanda would hand in a small piece of fabric that was used to find the perfect paint colour. Want to read more about this? Click here for part 1, part 2 and part 3.
For about seven years now, Máxima has also been a loyal customer of Gianvito Rossi. This Italian shoe designer is not exactly known for his innovative creations. His greatest strength is the extensive colour palette of his collections. Over the years, Máxima has purchased more than thirty different colours of the high-heeled court shoe. In the photo below you see two lime green pumps, which differ slightly in terms of shade. If you are a queen, your budget is apparently (and fortunately) big enough to purchase perfectly matching pumps from Gianvito Rossi.
If the color is unexpectedly not found at Natan or Gianvito Rossi? Then Máxima chooses a neutral counter color. Sand, cognac, beige or light gray, for example. It does not always have to be 100 percent matchy-matchy.
At galas she often chooses gold or silver instead of a pump in exactly the same color.
Hopefully the question has been answered well. The next reader question is about the planning of Máxima’s outfits. Are they fixed weeks in advance or does she also choose last minute? You will read the answer later this week.
