We don’t often see your Highness like this!
We now know that Queen Máxima will stop at nothing. Yesterday, our king’s wife took part in various army exercises, which produced some spectacular images. For example, she detonated a mine and took to the water with the quad bike, all in a military uniform – which, by the way, looked fabulous on her!
Jack-of-all-trades
The Queen was on a mission on Thursday afternoon! She joined the Engineer Regiment in Den Bosch, where she received an explanation about their activities and participated in an exercise during her visit to the unit.
This specific armed forces unit is trained in clearing obstacles and building military infrastructure such as bridges and ferries. Under the motto ‘Together we pave the way, Sodeju!’, they look for a road or build one. And that was also expected of our queen.
Say no more! Her highness traded her pumps and tiara for camouflage clothing and rolled up her sleeves. It’s incredible: she really suits everything.

Although His Majesty is usually quite active during a working visit, this is a slightly different story.
No Natan for a while, but just ehh…wet.
Anyway, that shouldn’t spoil the fun. Your Highness was clearly having fun!
Fortunately, there was a drink afterwards to warm up.
Mission accomplished
Hubby Willem-Alexander also dressed in a military uniform this week. He boarded a plane to the United Kingdom on Wednesday, where he visited and underwent the TAC Blaze helicopter exercise. The bar was therefore high for Máxima, who obviously did not want to be inferior to her husband.
Before the exercise at the Regiment of Engineers, it was said: “The most important thing: am I going to beat my man?” Well, we think that turned out pretty well!
