For the state visit to France, Queen Mathilde dug deep into her pockets. In addition to a red tailor, she also purchased an evening dress from Dior.
The red waistcoat consists of a skirt down to the calf and a jacket with wide three-quarter sleeves, a row of buttons at the center front, a round collar and a belt. From collar to hem, the set exudes the late forties/early fifties. A time when Christian Dior made waves with his New Look.
The dress code was black tie for the banquet. Mathilde completed this with a velvet evening dress from Dior, which was decorated with sparkling embroidery around the shoulders.
