Máxima’s public agenda was empty, but that doesn’t mean she was idle today. This afternoon she selected 25 luminaries, including ‘her’ fashion designer Benchellal.
The guests had recently received a prize or other distinction for their achievements in various sectors such as art and culture, media, science, sports and business. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima want to express their recognition and appreciation for people who have achieved a special achievement by offering excellent lunches.
One of the guests was Benchellal, a Dutch designer who is mainly known in the Middle East for his excellent mastery of draping and moulding. In addition to garments, his designs are also works of art and almost sculptures. Máxima wore a dress by his hand on Budget Day 2022.
Queen Rania also wore a Benchellal dress.
Letizia has now also discovered his talent.
Fashion today
Máxima unfortunately left out a design by Benchellal for the star lunch. Her choice fell on a midi dress from Valentino with a summery sunset design.
The dress also appeared during the reception of the Greek president on July 4, 2016.
