Hopeful words from the princess!
Since Charles was diagnosed with cancer, he has temporarily stepped out of the spotlight. Fortunately, we get a health update about the king every now and then. Princess Eugenie also recently announced how her uncle is doing.
Surprising openness
At the beginning of February, the world was shocked by the news that Charles was suffering from ‘a form of cancer’. It is quite striking that the monarch has chosen to be so open about his health. However, the British court had a clear explanation for this: “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to avoid speculation, and in the hope that this can support public understanding for everyone in the world affected by cancer.”
Updates from the king
It did not stop at a statement from the court: Charles has made himself heard quite often in recent times. And that generated a lot of sympathy. A month after the announcement of the diagnosis, the king can still count on support from all walks of life.

And if Charles doesn’t share an update himself, we always have his loving family members to keep us informed. This includes niece Eugenie, who will blow out 34 candles tomorrow. The York princess attended an event organized by The Elephant Charity yesterday, where she briefly shared how her uncle is currently doing.
“He’s doing well,” Eugenie said. She further said that the king would be “very proud because The Elephant Family is close to his heart.”

Camilla also recently delivered good news about her husband. During a visit to the Northern Irish city of Belfast yesterday, she said her husband was doing ‘very well’. We are very happy with these hopeful words from the royal family!
