As a royal you come into contact with a lot of people in your daily duties. In between the friendly waving and shaking hands, there is sometimes a chat with the locals present, and sometimes very unexpected questions arise!
High ranking visitors in Manchester
Prince William visited Manchester yesterday. All kinds of serious matters were on the program, such as attention to projects that should prevent violence among young people. The Prince of Wales, among other things, spoke to mothers who had lost their children to senseless violence. One of the mothers present shared:
“It is very important that he came to Moss Side (part of Manchester, ed.) to listen to our stories. When I heard he was coming here, I thought, ‘Wow, why would he want to come and listen to me?’”
Surprise
William’s presence naturally attracted a lot of attention, and images show that people of all generations do their best to have a chat with the prince or have their picture taken with him. Among them was eleven-year-old Amir, who was working on a craft project with his schoolmates.
When the future king came to sit next to him, Amir saw his opportunity and asked his highness how much money he had in his ‘bank account’. Ha! Brutals have half the world, nun?
The Prince of Wales reportedly laughed at the cheeky question. Afterwards, Amir told the press that the prince responded that he ‘didn’t know’. Nice save, Wills!
Spicy visit
His short visit to Manchester did not go entirely smoothly for William anyway. For example, at a presentation of volunteer hairdressers, he was asked if he would also like to participate, to which the prince responded with a laugh: “I am literally the very last person you should ask for this. My hair is disappearing!” Oops…
The prince was then spotted at the pool table, but here the highness turned out not to be the hero that people had hoped for. For example, he twice failed to clear a ball, which according to Hello! Magazine led to audible disappointment among the audience present.
