Prince William has had a tough few weeks. First his wife and great love, Princess Kate, has to go under the knife. He then sees King Charles admitted for an operation. And while Kate is still recovering from her operation, Wills suddenly receives the devastating news that his father has been diagnosed with cancer. Last night the Prince of Wales appeared for the first time at a public event, where he also spoke briefly about Kate and Charles.

Yesterday, Wills showed himself in public for the first time at an investiture ceremony where he provided all kinds of prominent figures with knight pins on behalf of King Charles. Well – Wills will no doubt be quite exhausted after the past few weeks, so he’s forgiven.
Later that day he made his appearance at the London Air Ambulance Gala, where he addressed the guests and…posed for an endless series of photos with actor Tom Cruise? That also comes with being a royal, apparently.

Since these were his first public duties since the medical interventions on his wife and father, it is not surprising that the prince also took some time to reflect on what is going on in his private sphere.
For example, one of the new MBEs, Patricia Spruce, said that she briefly spoke to William about Princess Kate. Patricia is involved in attracting foreign medical talent for the British National Health Service. And the Windsors can also reap the benefits! “Prince William said that Catherine had two Filipina sisters who took care of her and that they were amazing and kind,” the lady shared via her LinkedIn page. During his speech in the evening, William also briefly returned to the situation with Charles and Kate. After thanking the organizers of the evening, HRH continued: “I would like to take this opportunity to also express my gratitude for all the kind messages of support shown to Catherine and my father, especially over the last few days. It means a lot to all of us.”
It is clear that Wills may be focused on his duties, but his heart is focused on his family. And of course we can understand that!
