“I don’t want to go outside in my pajamas!”, the princess reveals.
Just order fries via a delivery service – you might not expect it so quickly from the royals. After all, they have extensive kitchens and an extensive selection of chefs ready. However, their eminences are also not averse to ordering from the local curry joint from time to time. But how does that work? Princess Eugenie comes with a special revelation!
Stayed nice and normal
They may live in palaces, wear the most expensive jewelry, and have designers at their feet that they would love to dress, but otherwise the royals are just people. And sometimes you just feel like having a fatty bite!
Speaking to Jessie and Lennie Ware, the hosts of the Table Manners podcast, Princess Eugenie revealed that she had ordered curry the night before with her hubby, Jack Brooksbank. And having such a bag of takeaway delivered to Palace? That still takes quite some effort.
In the car
For example, Euge reveals that they normally never order curry. “Jack and I literally sat on Deliveroo for an hour watching…What on earth does this mean?” Ha! Definitely recognizable. But placing an order does not make you a palace resident.
For example, Eugenie explained that she then has to call some court staff members to announce that a delivery is on its way to the palace gates. “And then we drive there in our pajamas to pick it up,” she explains.
This leads to some confusion among the hosts, because can’t the York princess and her husband just walk to the gate? Or hire someone to bring the bag full of goodies to them? Euge responds dryly to this: “We could indeed walk…but I don’t want to go outside in my pajamas.” Ha! Don’t blame the princess – we wouldn’t want to exchange our comfortable sweatpants for a pair of smart trousers, but to go out in your loungewear? No way!
Curry
Although this was Eugenie and Jack’s first time ordering curry, we know that some other Windsors love the spicy dishes. Or well, spicy… Prince William says he is a ‘masala man’. “I can’t have too much spice. I then start to sweat – it’s quite unattractive,” said the prince. Still, Wills is a big fan of a good curry. Together with Princess Kate, your highness likes to test the best curry houses throughout the country. Who knows, the Waleses might even share a list of culinary tips with Eugenie and Jack!
