Traditionally, the gourmet set appears on your table every year. Very cozy and also very tasty, but that blue baking smell that lingers in the house and in your clothes for days… horrible. How do you prevent that? Well, that’s simpler than you think.
Several tricks against the status of gourmets
This is a case of ‘Grandma knows what to do’, because there are several tricks to prevent that bad gourmet smell in your house. What you already do, of course, is ventilate the house, turn on the extractor hood and open as many windows as possible. Duh. But you can do even more!
1. Vinegar
While cooking you can put a pan with water and vinegar on the stove. You will notice that the air immediately stays a lot fresher.
2. Zwitsal
What you can also do is put a pan on the fire with a dash of Zwitsal. Want to bet that your house will smell fresh again in no time?
3. Coffee
This is certainly useful if you like to have a cup of coffee after dinner. Make a big pot of coffee or let coffee evaporate on a fire. The scent neutralizes (bad) odors.
4. Bay leaf
This one is super simple: burn a bay leaf. This way, all odors in the house disappear. Easy, but effective!
5. Sponge
Soak a sponge in vinegar and place it on a saucer in the living room. Some of the odor will be absorbed. A child can do the laundry, she’s gourmet!
