In the film we get a behind-the-scenes look at the infamous BBC interview with Britain’s Prince Andrew.
Prince Andrew stepped out of the royal spotlight in 2019 after it was revealed he is friends with abuse millionaire Jeffrey Epstein. The prince was also accused of sexual assault. Following these accusations, he spoke on television with journalist Emily Maitlis in the BBC Newsnight programme. And that resulted in such an earth-shattering interview that it was made into a film. Netflix is now releasing the teaser for that film – SCOOP.
Scandal prince
Prince Andrew was therefore good friends with Jeffrey Epstein, the American billionaire and sex offender who later committed suicide in his cell. He was imprisoned for sexual abuse of minors and human trafficking. Epstein had already been convicted for this in 2005, but the prince was stupid enough to continue to keep in touch with him, to continue to benefit from his jets and generosity and to invite him to parties at royal mansions. Very young women were also present at those parties…
Interview
After a photo of Epstein and Andrew circulated in 2010, the royal came under heavy fire. He was also accused of abuse himself. In a disastrous interview with BBC Newsnight, Andrew claimed at the time that he had last had contact with Epstein in 2010. The Daily Mail later managed to prove this was incorrect, as an email exchange between the two showed that they had been in contact in 2011. This earth-shattering interview with the scandal prince has now been made into a film and Netflix recently shared the first images:
