It’s not what it used to be. On December 29, 2013, Michael Schumacher (54) had a serious skiing accident in the French Alps. The former Formula 1 driver suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in an artificial coma for several months. To date, little information is known about the seven-time world champion’s health. Today marks the tenth anniversary of the accident. How are you Michaels Family?
In the Netflix documentary “Schumacher,” his loved ones provide a private insight into their family life. His son Mick (24) has a great desire to be able to exchange ideas with his father about their shared passion, motorsport. “Of course it’s the case that after the accident the experiences, the moments that many people experience with their parents, are not there or are less there,” he explains and adds: “That, I think, is a bit unfair.”
His daughter Gina-Maria (26) often thinks back to the old days when her dad was still regularly on the race track: “It was always the highlight when he came back from the races. He was probably tired, but that was it We do not care.” His wife Corinna (54), however, reveals how much has changed after the accident – it is “different” than before. “It’s very clear that Michael “I miss him every day, and not just me, the children, the family, his father, everyone who is around him,” she makes clear and emphasizes: “Everyone misses Michael.”
