Exciting! Or not?
It has been talked about, written about, speculated about for a long time, and probably even cursed within some circles. We’re talking about the long-awaited book by royalty journalist Omid Scobie. Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival officially hits shelves today!
A book full of revelations?
The time has come: the brand new book by royalty journalist Omid Scobie is out and can officially be read by everyone from today. This name may sound familiar to you: together with Carolyn Durand, he was responsible for the book Finding Freedom, about the relationship between Harry and Meghan and their eventual departure from the palace. The writer has been close to the Sussexes for years, and according to several leaked excerpts, the new publication could cause a lot of problems between Prince Harry and Meghan and the rest of the Windsors. Or well: after everything that has been published about them recently, including the memoirs of Prince Harry himself, you may wonder whether there is anything new to report.
Rumor mill
The rumor mill has been working overtime about the book recently and so we must cautiously come to the conclusion that many highlights from the book have already been widely discussed. It emerged that Princess Anne played a major role in the eviction of Harry and Meghan from Frogmore Cottage. The new book would point heavily to the king’s sister regarding the decision on ‘Frogxit’.
Leaked documents also stated that Harry was ‘completely alone’ around the death of his grandmother (and did not even know that the Queen was dying). “The next morning, the Sussexes had no idea that Buckingham Palace was already planning for the Queen’s final hours, and the first days of the new era of the monarchy – until the Duke’s phone started ringing,” said Scobie in his book.
Harry and Meghan
Although Scobie is said to be Harry and Meghan’s most loyal ‘cheerleader’ and does everything he can to portray Charles, Camilla, William and Kate in a bad light, the two have reportedly strongly distanced themselves from the book . Earlier this month, the MailOnline said it spoke to several ‘Sussex insiders’ who claimed this. New revelations about mutual tensions would of course be disastrous for any cautious reconciliation. Are you going to read it?
