The film and television world is mourning David Soul. The Chicago native started his acting career in the 1960s. At that time he had small appearances in productions such as “Smoking Guns” and “Flipper”. He became famous in the 1970s for his role as Ken Hutchinson in the crime series “Starsky & Hutch”. However, he had not been in front of the camera for around ten years. Now it is known: David is dead.
His wife Helen Snell confirms this in a statement that is available to The Sun, among others. “David Soul – beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother – died yesterday surrounded by his family after a brave fight for life,” it said. He had many gifts and was not only an actor and singer, but also a storyteller, a creative artist and a dear friend. “His smile, his laughter and his passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he touched,” emphasizes Helen. David was 80 years old.
David had already slowly withdrawn from the film and television business in the 1990s and concentrated on theater appearances. He also moved his residence from the USA to England. He also had British citizenship since 2004.
